5 things to do in Dubai this summer (that don’t involve cleaning!)
Posted on by daria
Summer activities in Dubai are not so obvious – the heat can trap you indoors some days, and other days you might have to be doing some home cleaning. It might seem everyone is running away from this city in the months of July and August. But, if you’re still enduring the wonderful heat, we’ve got the solution for both: book Matic to take care of the housework and do something new in Dubai.
1 – Dubai Creek Park
Take the cable car in Dubai Creek Park and enjoy Dubai’s striking geography, between the Arabian Gulf and the desert. You can also rent bikes to navigate around the gardens and flower beds. Highlights of the park is that entrance is super affordable, Wednesdays are for Ladies only, and there’s a really old amusement park that makes for cool photos!
2 – Hysteria Haunted House
I’m sure you’ve heard. This haunted house has recently opened in Dubai Mall, and promises screams and scares. So, if you’re preferring a day indoors at the Mall, do something different and get lost in the dark corners of this house!
3 – Take a cooking class
Knowledge Village has a centre of culinary arts where you can learn any food your stomach desires. Or better yet, invite some friends over for a dinner party and experiment with some new recipes. Set out the mood for the dinner with props and decorations, a la My Kitchen Rules style. The best part is you don’t need to worry about the post-cooking cleaning!
4 – Improvise!
If you haven’t already, make sure to head to Courtyard Playhouse, even if just to see the place. Set in an old building in Al Quoz, this place is all play! Take a class if you’re brave, but make sure you watch at least one performance that will make you laugh your heart out. We recommend Wednesday’s Maestro shows!
5 – Relax
Clean your mind! Take an indoors yoga class, book a spa treatment, indulge with a crazy brunch, take a hammock in Nadi Al Quoz. Just take some quiet time to yourself – it’ll make all the difference!
What are your ideas for things to do in Dubai? What kind of things would you spend your time doing if you didn’t have to worry about the mundane things like work, cleaning, running errands…?
