Baking Hacks the Inner Cook in You Will Appreciate!
Posted on by Beirut Abu Hdaib
I’m not a big fan of baking, mostly because I am really bad at it! However, I have come to learn that there are some baking hacks that actually make baking easier and more fun and today I will be sharing them with you.
Always Measure Your Flour Accurately
Using too much or too little flour can mess up your cake. Try spooning your flour in a dry measuring cup and scraping the excess with a knife to get the prefect flour measurement and a flawless cake.
Keep Kitchen Measurements Close By
Converting tablespoons to teaspoons or cups is a hassle so be sure to keep a sheet with all common kitchen measurements you might need close by as you are preparing your mix for baking.
Prevent Whisker Spatter
If you prefer to use a whisker to whisk your cake rather than doing it by hand, make sure you place a paper plate above the whisker beaters to prevent spatter and keep your kitchen counter, and clothes, clean.
Use Wax Paper for Less Mess
Did you know that you can line your baking dish with lightly buttered wax paper to reduce clean up time after baking? Well, now you do!
Cut Your Cheesecake Right
Every time I try cutting a cheesecake, I end up with a mess! A great hack for cutting cheesecake is…. Wait for it… Using dental floss! Just hold the unflavored dental floss, and draw it back and forth in a gentle sawing motion and you’ve got the perfect slices.
Make Confectioner’s Sugar at Home
Did you run out of confectioner’s sugar in the middle of your baking? No problem. Just blend your granulated sugar in a blender until it reaches a powdery consistency.
Ripen Your Bananas
If you need ripe bananas and all you have is green ones all you need to do is roast the whole bananas in a 300-degree oven till they are soft and brown.
Transform Your Boxed Cake
I am guilty of using boxed cakes when I want to “bake a cake” at home. If you are like me, you will be glad to know that you can transform your boxed cake by using butter instead of cooking oil and milk or buttermilk instead of water. You can also add slices fruits in the mix to make a really yummy cake!
Happy baking everyone! Don’t hesitate to share your baking hacks and tips with us.
