Eid al Fitr is a special occasion for those fasting, as it is marks the end of fasting and celebrates coming together. The festive mood might make it more difficult to keep a clean home, so these are our top tips for a clean and happy home before, during and after Eid!
1 – Prepare yourself!
Like many occasions, Eid is celebrated with lots of family and friends. Which also means lots of messes that come with! Our first tip is to take a deep breath. Lots of them. Also, keep in mind that Matic is here to clean up your pre and post Eid messes!
2 – Get a new item!
Both your family and your guests would appreciate a new addition to your home that makes it look freshly cleaned. Go for a plant, some fresh flowers, new cushions, a new light fixture.
3 – Scrub the floors and polish your furniture
You do want everything looking squeaky clean (no pressure!). Scrub those floors, polish the furniture, scrub those corners, doors, light switches. Pay attention to these little details!
4 – During Eid, keep a daily checklist
Clean up spills right away. Vacuum floors daily. Empty rubbish bins. Keep stock of toilet paper and tissue boxes. Quick clean toilets and sinks.
5 – Do the laundry
This one is a no-brainer, but sometimes you can get so tied up with other things that the dirty laundry racks up. Our tip is to throw all your dirty laundry in the washing machine the night before Eid to have a clean batch of everything before the celebrations.
6 – Give back
Finally, don’t forget to give back during this time of year. The Eid is not just about eating, it’s a time to give back and be charitable. Clean out your closets and cupboards and help the less fortunate in Dubai by donating new or used clothes or appliances, handing money, baking goods…
