Remember what your mothers told you about keeping your room clean?

Growing up, we’d all try to “hide” the mess from our mothers rather than clean our rooms. (Cramming all the dirty clothes in the closet, anyone?)
But somehow as adults, our mothers were able to pass on some of the best cleaning tricks. We’ve asked a few of our clients and these were the cleaning tips that were passed on from their mothers:
Clean as you go. I’d be in the kitchen trying to cook with my mum. She’d wipe off all the table tops, throw out all the garbage, wash all the dishes as soon while we’re cooking. It saves so much time and lets us nap after we eat our meal! I still do that with my kids. Moms cleaning tips
I call it mum’s fold. She taught me how to fold my clothes to save space. It’s a handy trick for travel as well!
White vinegar. I’ve grown to love the smell of white vinegar – that’s how I know the carpets have been cleaned, and all the table tops. Although I used to fight with my mom about using it to clean the house (the odor used to kill me!), I do it now with my own home. My mum the chemist.
This isn’t a tip – this is a different kind of discipline. We hired part time cleanings almost on a weekly basis growing up. The day before these visits, my mother would wake my sister and I up at 7AM (she always scheduled them on our weekends of course) to go on a full day cleaning spree. I still go on a mini cleaning spree before my housekeeping visit. Turning into my mother
Hey moms, your superhero-like skills to juggle a thousand things at once deserves to be respected and celebrated. We hope you have the chance to kick back and relax, (and obviously let someone else deal with the house work!)
So, to moms all over, from all of us at Matic, we’re wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day!
