One of our worst things to deal with is nasty intruders to our home. We’re talking about insects, roaches, lizards, rats (gasp) – anything that makes your skin crawl. It usually hits its peak during the refreshing Dubai summer, but we’re coming to the rescue to show you how to keep your home intruder free and clean all year round.
Whether you’re in Dubai for a short period of time or longer, you don’t want to be dealing with a roach crisis (yuck), so take this advice with open arms. In all fairness, I haven’t had to deal with any roaches in my entire duration of stay in Dubai. But dealing with cleaning sofa couch every two days are essential.
That being said, better safe than sorry.
Never leave your garbage overnight. Keep your kitchen clean at all times and make it a daily routine to take out the garbage every night before you sleep. It will make all the difference.
Pick up your crumbs
If you think having that bag of chips in bed or on your sofa wont leave traces in your clean home, think again. No judgment – you can eat wherever you want in your home, just always clean up any food particles or crumbs even if you think its negligible. Roaches specifically can survive on quite a small amount of food.
Get to the sticky areas
One of our earlier pitches at Matic was that we clean where no one has cleaned for you before. We’re like your obsessive cleaning conscience that will clean the tops of your fridge, cabinet, the door handles, the nook behind the TV table, the back of closets – you get the picture. Clean under your kitchen appliances too, because food usually sticks on to small parts of these.
Do the dishes
Again – keep your kitchen clean at all times! Don’t leave them in the sink. Invest in a dishwasher if you can’t bring yourself to at least rinse your plates right after you eat.
Tupperware, Tupperware, Tupperware
Buy them. Use them. Seal all your food – don’t let it sit there on the table or in the kitchen. Or even in the fridge for that matter.
Close any crack you see at home.
Either get your home sprayed, or just set traps/spray the house every day.
If you’re unlucky and you do find an intruder in your home, clean up right after that – the last thing you want is the family to come back seeking revenge. Combine these steps with MATIC cleaning sessions and you can start an intruder-free home record.
