Fall Cleaning Checklist – Why you should own a Squeegee
Posted on by Matic Fanatic
Having dirty windows is like having blurry vision. It’s easy to treat but somehow it seems like a daunting task for everyone. Also, most people who do clean their windows do it wrong (sorry). If you have tools like the pros (basically just a squeegee), then you’re doing it right. If not, let us fill you in for the best tips on window cleaning.
First step – squeegees. A squeegee is that scraper that’s used to clean the car’s windshield. Invest in one, if you don’t just stop reading right here.
What you’ll need:
Squeegees (with their extending poles)
Bucket (to keep everything in)
All purpose cleaner
If you’re going to listen to anything, remember this one tip:
When window cleaning, start at the top left corner, pull the squeegee over the soaped up window drawing a reverse ‘S.’ At the end of each pull, wipe the blade with the lint-free cloth. Always put a towel on the windowsill to stop dripping.
Don’t do it when the sun is hitting your windows – choose a time when the sun isn’t shining directly on the glass.
Brush the outside of the windows with a brush.
Mix white vinegar and hot water
Use the sponge to wet the window with the vinegar and water solution. Just make sure not to use it on the window frames.
Wet the squeegee and start drawing your reverse S’s. That’s all it takes for window cleaning.
Wipe the frames with a cloth and all purpose cleaner and water. Then rinse them with another damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution.
